Protecting our Patients and our Employees
Linden Optometry is monitoring news of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) daily, and adjusting our procedures accordingly.
We have implemented precautionary measures to reduce potential exposure to the Coronavirus outbreak, and have cut back our hours as well as our building capacity for the next few months.
UPDATE: We have temporarily reduced our hours:
Mondays 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM - By Appointment Only
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM - By Appointment Only
Saturday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM - By Appointment Only
Sunday Closed.
BEING CAUTIOUS:
Please wear your face mask before entering the building. We will take your temperature. Please do not bring visitors or family members if at all possible, unless they are caring for you, or you are caring for them. We do not allow more than 1 patient and 1 visitor in each exam room. Other visitors will be asked to sit in the hallway.
We have over 30 hand washing sinks throughout our optometry office. Each is equipped with soap, hot and cold water, and paper towels. We ask that all patients and employees wash their hands with soap and hot water as soon as they arrive, and also when they leave our premises.
Our wash rooms are being disinfected every 1 hours. We have a sink with soap and hot water in the doctor's waiting area, in every exam room, and in our contact lens area. Where a sink and soap is not readily accessible, hand sanitizer dispensers are available.
BEING CONSIDERATE AND RESPONSIBLE:
If you are under the weather, have a cold or flu, please reschedule your visit for another day when you are feeling well again. Call us, and our staff will gladly assist you to reschedule your appointment.
In particular, if you are having respiratory problems (coughing, difficulty breathing) or have a fever, please reschedule. If you have traveled out of the country in the last few weeks and/or have contact with somebody who has traveled out of the country, and either of you are not feeling well, please reschedule for 2 weeks out.
Please stay at least 6 feet away from others as you browse though our extensive eyeglass frame collection. After you try on a frame, please place it in a blue tray for disinfection.
DISINFECTING:
As always, our examination equipment and chin rests are disinfected before every patient. Other areas of the clinic are disinfected repeatedly throughout the day.
Our reception desk, optical dispensing tables, and other counter tops are being disinfected 4 to 6 times each day.
Our doctors wash their hands after each patient, and again when the next patient arrives. If you have been using your cellphone while waiting for the doctor, please wash your hands again, in the exam room.
Whenever a patient tries on eyeglass frames in our optical area, those frames are taken to disinfection room where they undergo a 30-minute process involving both UV light and liquid disinfectant. Then, each frame is dried, polished, and returned to our frame displays.
PRECAUTIONS
Our doctors or staff members may ask you if you are having any respiratory problems, such as coughing or difficulty breathing, or if you have a fever, and whether you have traveled out of the country recently. When there is doubt, we may take your temperature, and will ask you to come back when there is any doubt about your health. This is to protect the health and safety of our patients, our staff, and our doctors. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
You will see our staff wearing face masks. This is for YOUR safety, as well as theirs. Please do not be alarmed at the masks -- it does NOT mean that your doctor is sick. It means they are protecting your health.
We have also installed breathing shields on our slit lamp microscopes. These are clear plastic barriers which block exhaled air from traveling between the patient and doctor while the doctor looks into your eyes.
Our preventive actions are to reassure our patents that Linden Optometry is BEING CAUTIOUS, CONSIDERATE AND RESPONSIBLE.
