It was our pleasure helping those of you who came in for assistance. We have far exceeded our original goals and budget, and have provided over $20,000 of contact lenses, eyeglasses, and eye exams to those in need. We have therefore found it necessary to end this program on March 1, 2025.
However, we may still be able to help you:
1. If you have VSP vision insurance, call VSP and ask if they will re-instate your vision benefits due to your loss of eyeglasses or contact lenses in the wildfires. If they agree, they will call us with an authorization to provide you with an eye exam, eyeglasses, and/or contact lenses up to the limits of your plan.
2. The major contact lens manufacturers, such as Alcon, CooperVision, and Vistikon, may authorize us to provide you with a free 3-month supply of contacts, if your contact lens prescription is still valid. Please call our contact lens dept to inquire, before coming.
Linden Optometry wants to help patients who have lost their home in the fires. We are donating our services, such as Eye Exams, Optos Retinal Imaging, and Contact Lens Fittings, plus a free pair of eyeglasses with prescription lenses OR a 3-month supply of contact lenses.
We are working with numerous suppliers and insurance companies to provide as many services as possible. To date, we have helped approximately 50 families obtain a new pair of glasses or contact lenses.
If you have vision Insurance, but have already used your benefits for the year, we will contact your insurance company on your behalf, and ask that they re-instate your benefits. When this happens, you will be able to order eyeglasses or contact lenses up to the limit of your insurance.
If you do not have vision insurance, we will provide a 3-month supply of contact lenses OR a pair of eyeglasses with prescription lenses at no cost. The eyeglass frames will be from a special selection of eyewear brands who are working closely with us, including Marchon Eyewear and Kingsley Rowe Eyewear. So, you may not receive the same brand you wore in the past, but you will be able to see again.
Please bring ID, as we verify addresses prior to providing this service. And, we may end this program once the total donated exceeds $15,000.
